Whenever a page is listed within Silktide Analytics, we often show a link to view the page within the Inspector. This can allow you to see the content of the page along with data from Silktide Analytics, such as a heatmap of frustration events that may have occurred on the page.

Sometimes, a page will be listed within an Analytics property that cannot be viewed in the Inspector. When this happens, the error message will state "Something went wrong. The URL has not been tested in Silktide. We don't yet support untested URLs, but we will soon." This will be followed by a link to contact our support team. There are a couple of reasons you could be seeing this message.

The Analytics property isn't connected to a Silktide website

The most common reason for this error is caused when the Analytics property is not connected to a website within Silktide. In the settings for the Analytics property, you can associate the property with one or more of your sites within Silktide. You can even synchronize the sections and permissions between your Analytics property and the Silktide website(s). Doing this step creates an association between a page's Analytics data and the page's snapshot and check scores within Silktide.

It should be noted that a website within Silktide can only be associated with one Analytics property. If multiple Analytics properties are linked to the same website, you would only be able to view pages in the Inspector from one of these properties. All other properties will produce the error message shown above when attempting to view the page.

The page is excluded from your Silktide website(s)

If your Analytics property is associated with one or more Silktide websites, check to see if the page would be included or excluded from the rules of those sites. It may be that the page received views or other Analytics events but that your website settings are preventing the page from being associated with any of your Silktide websites. We have an article discussing how you can specify which pages are tested for your website.

The page uses authentication we have not configured or otherwise cannot be scanned

Some pages across your web estate may require a user to log in before they can be accessed. Other pages may require a user to enter data through a form before the content is shown, such as a confirmation page for an online store. If either of these are true for your page, we can work with you to set up HTTP authentication or user journeys so that our crawler can access the page.

View your untested pages

The Untested pages screen is added to the Inventory section of all websites associated with an Analytics property. This page will list off all pages that have received page views from the last 30 days but that have not been tested in Silktide. This can help you identify pages that should be part of your Silktide site scan.
