Silktide uses the RBAC permissions model for user permissions. Learn more about RBAC.

Default groups

When you first start with Silktide, you'll notice a few pre-set groups or roles. These are designed to help you get started, but you can also create your own groups to match your organization's needs.

Everyone group

This group includes all users. It's the starting point for permissions, giving basic access to everyone. By default this group can do things like watch tutorial videos and use the standalone inspector. They won't see any website reports unless you decide to give them that access.

Administrators group

This group has complete access to all platform features. They can see everything, add or remove websites, create Reports, and manage users and their permissions.

Creating your own groups

To create a custom group, select your profile picture in the top navigation bar, then go to Settings > Groups. Here you'll have a list of all existing permissions groups.

To create a new group, select "+ New group" at the top of the page. Tick the boxes for any permissions required and save your changes.

Users who are added to your group will be granted the permissions set, in addition to those inherited by the Everyone group and any user-specific permissions.
