Some pages in Silktide show a “flow” label because they are part of a user flow. A flow is how Silktide tests a process on a website that requires more than just visiting a single page.

For example, if a “Thank you for your feedback” page only appears after submitting a form, Silktide needs to follow the steps of completing that form to test it. That journey is a user flow.

The default flow

By default, Silktide will create a single flow called the “First time visit” flow.

This flow tells Silktide not to click anything on the page. That way, any pop-ups remain visible, and issues that only appear within them are not hidden by Silktide automatically closing them.

Where to view flows

You can view flows in two ways:

  • Page list or Inspector view – any page that is part of a flow will show a “flow” label, either next to its title in the page list or in the top-right corner of the Inspector.

  • User Experience module – to see the flows themselves, go to User Experience > User Flows in the left-hand navigation.
