What are reports?

Reports allow you to get an overview of the key factors that you would like to use to manage the performance and improvements of your web estate.

There are 3 types of reports, Live, Static, and Scheduled.

  • Live: These reports will update with every retest, and can be used to see how well key metrics are currently performing.
  • Static: These reports won’t change over time and so they can be used to see how the web estate is performing right now and can be used as a reference for future improvements.
  • Scheduled: These reports are static reports that can be scheduled to be created and sent out on a regular basis.

The different report screens

Overview

The reports overview screen allows you to see your Recently viewed reports so that they can easily be accessed again. You can search through the recently viewed reports using the search field in the top-right corner of the widget.

Underneath the recently viewed widget is the Reports template widget. You can use templates that have been set up on the account to create reports, live reports, or scheduled reports. You can search through the report templates that already exist by using the search field in the top-right corner of the widget.

Finally, the overview screen shows a list of all Scheduled reports along with who created the report. These reports can be accessed by selecting the name of the report, and all reports can be viewed by selecting the View all button in the top-right corner.

Don’t forget, that the different reports and templates that are visible may be limited depending on the permissions that have been set for your user profile, or on the report and templates themselves.

Live Reports

The Live screen shows a list of live reports that have been created on the account, along with when the live report was created and by who. The table can be reordered using the table headers, and the magnifying glass in the top-right corner can be used to search for specific live reports.

Selecting the image or name of the report will allow you to access the live report and view its contents or make any changes.

Next steps

Now that you’ve got an understanding of what reports can do, you can start creating your own reports. Though it’s important to remember that all reports must start with a template, so if you haven’t already got one that suits your needs, go and create a template first.
