How to create your own policies

If you need something not covered by Silktide’s default policy library, you can create your own policy. To do this:

  1. Select your avatar in the top-right corner and then select Settings
  2. Select Policies from the menu on the left-hand panel
  3. Select New to start creating your custom policy
  4. Give the policy an appropriate name and description
  5. Select Add Category in order to ensure that the check appears within an appropriate category and module
    • You can also set how heavily the category’s score will be impacted by the “Max impact on score” value
  6. Select which websites you want the policy to apply to
  7. Set the Advanced settings
    • Type adjusts which tab the policy check will appear under
    • Default tab adjusts which tab is shown upon first viewing the check
    • Text for point provides information to users and is shown underneath each point when viewing the check within the inspector
    • Show one point per page limits the number of points shown by the check
  8. Once the settings are in place, scroll back to the top and click Next

You can now add rules to this policy.
